Built by Alco-Schenectady in August of 1937, this mighty loco lasted until being "vacated" in May of 1959, less than a year from when this photo was taken.. Specs - serial #68812, class FEF-1, massive 77" drivers, impressive 300 psi boiler pressure, 24.5x32" cylinders, engine weight of 465,000 lb, tractive effort of 63,611 lb.
