One reason I like Medina Junction so much is the long, but mostly forgotten history of the former town. In this shot, one can see an old telephone pole laying in the grass. For years, these poles lined the railroad right of way. Im unsure of when they were installed but they were removed by CN around 2013. |

A CN through freight parallels Harrison St. as it heads northeast at the south end of the former SOO yard at Neenah, WI on 28 Nov. '19. Train had two locomotives, CN 3845 and CN 2982. Neenah Foundry Plant 2 & Plant 3 are partially visible in the background at left. Plant 2 opened in 1960 and Plant 3 was built in 1967. Plant 1 opened in 1918 and stood about a mile to the north, until it was closed in 1994 and eventually demolished. The W. Bell St. overpass can be seen in the distance to the right. A remnant of the former C&NW main line, now relegated to a passing siding, also in use by CN, runs parallel to the left. |

The facility partially visible between the trains is home to Amcor Flexibles Neenah (formerly Bemis until Jun. '19, formerly Curwood, Inc.), 1815 Marathon Ave., Neenah, WI 54956, an active rail customer. A remnant of the former C&NW main line runs parallel on the other side of the trains. |
