HTR 646 |
Description: |
This is one of those "use up your luck for the next year" circumstances. On my way back from Utah visiting my son, I stopped by remote Hudson to see if I could anything sitting within telephoto distance. So did not expect to find a 539 engined Alco working away. I still had 9 hours of driving after this, was a little late getting back to MO that night.... |

HTR 646 |

The crew just shoved a cut into the yard and is heading back through the shop area. 646 ran the entire time with no smoke, even when throttled. |

Hudson Terminal (HTR) |
Description: |
Total dumb luck-on a trip back from Utah, I dropped by Hudson on a Sunday morning, just hoping they had parked a unit within telephoto distance (no such luck on previous trips). What do I find-HTR 646 switching away, and within range from a road. In this shot, the conductor is climbing down to align the switch as warhorse 646 burbles away. Made the rest of the 16 hour drive worth it. |
