When Amtrak took over intercity trains Dearborn Station was closed leaving the N&W (ex-Wabash) commuter train to Orland Park without a downtown terminal. An outdoor track was utilized. The train can be seen in the lower portion of the photo with the Geep in the lower-left corner and the train diagonally upward. The train was eventually moved to Union Station. The photo is from Sears Tower. I wish it were better. |
