| 2024 would be the last season of steam at the Milwaukee County Zoo. Construction began on the locomotive in 1972 and finished in 1978. The last 15" gaugc locomotive built by the Sandley Light Railway Equipment Works. Designed by Mike Decker, 1924 is the heaviest 15" gauge engine built by Sandley and was inspired cy the USRA heavy Pacifics. |
