UNion Pacific Railroad 4-6-6-4 3977 likely at Schenectady, New York around June 1943. Number 3977 was built by Alco-Schenectady (c/n 70160) in June 1943 as a coal burner. In November 1944, the UP converted 3977 to burn oil and in November 1952 renumbered to 3710 (2nd). in November 1961 it renumbered to 900079 and used as a snow melter and in 1968 it was numbered back to 3977 and donate4d to North Platte, Nebraska for display. |
