The Afternoon Hiawatha in 1964  Contributor's Pick!
Milwaukee Road's northbound Train 3, "The Afternoon Hiawatha" is just about to come off the Mississippi River Bridge at Hastings, MN, about 18 miles southeast of St. Paul and almost 400 miles from Chicago, where it left at 1:00 p.m. E9A (my notes say it was #33 but it had to be either 33Aor 33C) leads two F units this beautiful summer evening of June 24, 1964.
