These model CF16-4 locomotves were built in 1950 and all were retired from the Pennsy in 1965. Photo: Mac Owen Collection." Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #9496 and two more "C-Liners" whose numbers are not recorded. All are FF-16's built by Fairbanks-Morse and rated at 1,600 horsepower each. #9496 was built in October of 1950 and retired in April of 1965 after just 15 years of revenue service. |
