WP 921D - Western Pacific   Contributor's Pick!
Caught by Robert Larson, it appears as if this retired WP unit is in service pulling the recent cars off a flat. According to the Western Pacific RR Museum, the home of this retired F7, it was one of the last units delivered to WP's first order of F7's in February of 1950. In 1977, it was sent to Morrison-Knudson in Boise, ID for rebuilding and repainted in the classic orange and silver Zephyr paint scheme. It and 3 other F7 units were used by WP for publicity. After the UP merger, #921-D was retired and donated to Fether River Rail Society and into the Western Pacific RR Museum.
