The lead power of the second southbound TXUX train I saw this day approaches College Av in Neosho behind a BNSF and two KCS units. On the rear is a another BNSF unit and two Mexican units for the 135 loads going south. KCS operating practice has changed over time, though now the trains are longer. For a long time, they were 125 cars on this run. The latest few I have seen are in the 135 car range, and running the power 3x3, instead of 2x3 they had been doing with 125 car trains. For the last couple of years, the power has been home road in a 2x1 configuration, with KCS adding two units as rear DPUs, after several years of mid train DPUs, two units cut in about 85 cars deep. |
