It appears as if there might have been a problem since the crew is clustered together by it in this fuzzy original photo. Built by Burnham, Wm & Co (Baldwin) in 1902, this was a common site on the rails out west for nearly 50 years. Specs after conversion to simple expansion by Santa Fe shops in 1912 - 69" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 23.5x28" cylinders engine weight of 210,190 lb, traactive effort of 38,097 lb.
