Here is a steam locomotive portrait by D.W. Eldridge that was taken in Peoria, Illinois, c. 1948. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #8816, an H-10S (2-8-0) "Consolidated" built by the Lima Locomotive Works as Vandalia Lines number "425" during September of 1916, renumbered PRR "8816" in 1917, renumbered "8004" in 1951, and retired in 1955 after 39 years of faithful service.
