Title:
PRR 8675, AS-18AM, 1965
Description:
Slope to Works. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train between SLOPE and WORKS Towers in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 06 June 1965. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #8675 and #8656. Both are AS-18AM's built by the American Locomotive Company and rated at 1,800 horsepower each. #8675 was built in 1958, but # 8656 was built in 1957. They are pushing a westbound mixed-cargo freight train past WORKS Tower on the left. Also visible is PRR N-8 Caboose #478164.
