Description:  CN through freight slowly pulls out past a CN local on former SOO rails at N. Lake St. in Neenah, WI on 15 Feb. '14. Through freight was likely enroute from Stevens Point to Green Bay and had two locomotives, IC 3133 pulling and CN 9673 pushing. Local was likely bound for Appleton and points beyond. A couple of miles away at Stroebe, another local was waiting to return to the former SOO yard in Neenah.

Description:  CN local bisects the intersection of W. College Ave./Hwy. 125 and S. Memorial Dr./N. Richmond St./Hwy. 47 as it heads northeast over former C&NW rails at Appleton, WI on 15 Feb. '14. This is probably the busiest intersection, and consequently busiest grade crossing, in Appleton. The large brick building in background is Good Company restaurant, est. 1980. The building was formerly Marshall Brothers Wholesale Paper, a.k.a. Marshall Paper Co., est. 1893. It used to receive rail service, the spur was on the opposite, north side, of the building.

Description:  CN local passes the former C&NW depot as it heads northeast toward Kaukauna Industrial Park No.1 on 30 Mar. '14. It dropped most of its train on the mainline just west of Gertrude St. so it could go spot a covered hopper at Schuh Transport, Inc. Then it would return here, pick up its train, and continue on to service Thilmany Pulp and Paper Co. mill. Designed in the Art Moderne style and built in 1947, it originally had a flat roof. The current gabled roof was added at some point after 1983.
